Artist's Comments

I stole the idea from *frzdragon, who's collection of screencaps were pretty awesome. "Frosting!" XD

Anyway, there was a link to a tutorial by =akureikarasu of which I promptly stole. Yesh. So here's my collection of anime shots for my various characters, too.

Screenie 1: The word "Corn" is the main part of an inside joke, that thankfully, I did not have to be a witness to. Pretty much, it references to a scene in an anime called "My Sexual Harassment". Those of you in the older audience can probably put two and two together to figure out what a pair of boys could do with an ear of corn and a bottle of bourbon. X.x Ew, mental picture. Pepper's Reaction is similar to the witness. :3
I have an awesome Reference book: Artist's Photo Reference, Reflections, Textures, and Backgrounds, which is why the background is halfway decent. (Not totally decent, but better than most *coughallcough* backgrounds I do.)

Screenie 2: Yay Pikosoki! And I'm sure everyone is sick of him, after the onslaught of pictures with him and Z. Quickie how I did the fire tutorial: Made lineart of firey shapes, made a new layer for the base red, added a outer glow of the same color at Opacity 85%, Normal blending. Played around with the size and stuff to make it look nice. Did it again for the orange and yellow flames. I made a basic sword shape in stark white, and blended it a little in a motion-blur style, using the smudge tool. I made 3 more flame layers, to be "above" the sword. The shadows are a 60% multiply using the background color, and I played with the colorize option in Hue/Saturation, and Color Balance where I Blued the darks, Magenta'd the middles, and Yellowed the highlights. Those last two layers don't affect the fire.

Screenie 3: Boom! Something Magical and Big. Used that reference book again. :) Hue/Saturation is my friend.

Screenie 4: Bad codex or something. :3

Screenie 5: DEATH STARE OF DOOOOOOOOM! :P

I think I'll do a Princess Flora batch next, so I can get Z and the girls in the spotlight... :)

One time there was a man who lived in a tree named George. George liked shoes and tomatoes. He had a eel as a pet and he made Jam for a living.
Once upon a time blah blah..

Woah, this is truely inspiring. The corn joke is new to me, but I have some ideas of what a guy might think to do ^_^ Now that I have revealed that I have a pervert side, like what guy doesn't, I truely thought this was an anime at first, the new ones that annoy me because of the obvious lack of luster and style the originals had but it's not your art it's just my feelings towards the new age of anime in general. I'm an old fart that has gotten accustomed to the traditional methods and not all this new age crap if you get my drift. All the panels look rather good with the exception of the one Z and that guy is in. I can see quite a few areas that appear to have been rushed but all and all it is cute. I think this deserves a fav. Great work.

Yeah.... that last one was at like midnight and I shoulda known better. I'm making a second set, and I'm super proud of the second panel in it.
And I kinda know how bland a couple of them look, I just haven't got a clothes set for the twins....

The very existence of flame-throwers proves that some time, somewhere, someone said to themselves, You know, I want to set those people over there on fire, but I'm just not close enough to get the job done.

Arial, size 18, bold, with a 3 pixel font.
